The Crazy Dazy started out as an idea, with phone calls going back and forth between Avery and a friend about a business. Make one phone call to Ellen's college suitemate, Angie, and boom, the idea was born. Make cute personalized backpacks for young kids going to preschool or day care, so things can stay organized better in a classroom. So the idea and the friends worked together and Ellen started the business on a table in her home office. Her youngest child Landry was four, and she stayed home with her. She worked on building the site and the business. Avery designed the logo. Ellen learned about internet retail. Within months, people started to notice our presence on the internet. When back-to-school hit in July, The Crazy Dazy was off and running even with Ellen running it from her hospital bed during surgery. (Craziness!) Landry was in dance (still is!), so personalized dance bags were added. Soon Ellen was so busy, employees were added and Avery joined her full-time! Now seven years into embroidering and providing personalized backpacks, lunchboxes and dance bags--and making first days in a new situation like school more special with a cool bag--The Crazy Dazy now occupies a 3600 sf building (built in the 1890's!) on the Historic Carthage, MO square. With processing 26,000 orders a year out of a building just 15 feet wide, Crazy belongs in our name! Virtually every order has an embroidered bag in it, so our machine is always going! So feel free to join us: we have been around a long time. Let us take care of you and make your child smile! (It will make you smile, too! That's what happens when our own kids smile.)

About the Owners: Avery Hynes has a BBA in Business Management from Evangel University, with 15 years' retail & executive retail management experience. Ellen Atwood Hynes has a BBA in accounting from Evangel University, a CPA certificate, and has six years' public accounting, seven years' retail management, and 16 years' childraising experience. Avery & Ellen have combined their professional training, along with their much-loved experience in raising children, to form The Crazy Dazy. Avery & Ellen have three children, ages 16, 13 & 11. The Crazy Dazy has six employees, in addition to the full-time (plus!) efforts of Avery & Ellen. We are so honored to have you as a guest and customer!
Privacy Policy: Okay, here's the deal on how we protect your privacy. Your credit card information is protected under the PCI security regulations by our ecommerce provider, Network Solutions, and by Cybersource, our Gateway provider. We are not allowed to operate under Federal Law without proof of this compliance, so you have no worries there. Also, our site is scanned daily for possible leaks by McAfee. The seal shown on our site shows that our site is protected from hackers and the information that you enter is secure. All customer information is password protected. We do not share your information with any 3rd parties, because we want to be treated the same way. Under Federal Law, we only send you a newsletter if you sign up for it on the site. Otherwise, your email address is only used to send you an order confirmation email. If you prefer not to disclose your credit card information online, you can place an order over the phone by calling 877-561-6456, or choose "check" to mail in a check instead of paying with a credit card. Shipping Policy: We moved our shipping policies to another page!
Return Policy: If you have a problem, contact us one of the ways listed above. Returns must occur within 60 days from receipt of items & you must contact us for a Return Authorization # before returning your package; otherwise, your return may be refused. Personalized items are not returnable. We can mail you a return label for your return if you prefer, and there will be a $4.00 charge netted against your return in that case. If you would like an exchange, contact us and we will mail you a return label. We give free shipping on even or above exchanges. Refund/exchange policy applies to resalable merchandise & U.S. orders only. Personalized items & items without tags are not resalable. Misused & washed items are not resalable. Sorry, but we do not refund original shipping charges.
If an item is defective, we will do everything possible to correct the problem. However, if we determine an item has been misused or abused, no refund will be issued. If an item is defective, please e-mail a picture of the defect and personalization (if purchased) to customersatisfaction@thecrazydazy.com. If you are unable to send a picture (the quickest way to resolve your problem), we can send you a return label at a cost of $4.00 if you purchased your item through the Outlet (discounted) or used a discount code. For non-discounted defective items, we can mail you a pre-paid return label.
We cannot refund personalized items unless the error was clearly ours or an item is defective. If you have concerns about how a font will look, e-mail or call us before purchasing. We can send you a preview within 2 business days. Digital pictures on the site are digital, not embroidered, and may vary from actual embroidered results. We are not responsible for screen resolution differences in color.
If we took your personalized order over the phone, you are responsible for checking your order confirmation email to ensure correct spelling. We're sorry that we cannot be responsible for misspellings for orders taken over the phone.
Cancellation of orders must be made within 24 hours of placing your order. After that time, all other policies regarding returns above apply.
If we send a replacement of a defective or wrong item to you before receiving your return, you have 45 days to return the defective or wrong item, after which your card will be charged for the item and applicable shipping & personalization.
If you received free shipping and your return causes your order total to fall below the free shipping threshhold in effect at the time of sale, you will receive a credit for the item, less the shipping you would have paid for the reduced order at the time of the order (in case of free shipping specials).
